When the skin starts to lose its youthful glow, many doctors quickly recommend microdermabrasion or chemical peels, which remove a thin layer of skin and stimulate new growth. These tried-and-true methods are effective but can’t hold a candle against the Sciton® MicroLaserPeel™ and NanoLaserPeel™ technology. The laser instantly removes damaged skin cells and activates special messenger cells that trigger the body’s natural skin renewal process.
Before and After (1 week apart)
Laser Peels treat the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands. Your eyes will be covered with safety shields during the procedure. Our laser technician will position the hand-piece above the skin and begin a computer-guided process to treat the selected area. The entire process typically lasts 15–30 minutes. Pain is minimal because the laser does not penetrate deeply. A topical numbing cream can be applied if necessary. 1–3 treatments may be needed to achieve desired results.
How should I prepare for my treatment?
You should AVOID sun exposure, tanning beds, and spray tans 14 days before treatment. You should also AVOID retinoids, topical exfoliants, and other aesthetic treatments 14 days before your treatment.
When should I schedule my treatment?
Many patients schedule treatments on a Friday and return to normal activities by Monday, which leads to the nickname “The Weekend Peel.”
How long is recovery?
Depending on the areas treated, most patients experience noticeable improvements in tone, texture, and color in 3–4 days. You should avoid all sun exposure during this period as ultraviolet rays can disrupt recovery. You may be given topical skincare products to use during the first few days following treatment.
